What are the library operating hours?

Our library operating hours are:
• Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
• Saturday: Closed
• Sunday: Closed
• Public Holidays: Closed

How do I get a library card?

All registered students, faculty, and staff are automatically issued a library account. Your student/staff ID serves as your library card. To activate your account, please visit the library circulation desk with your ID card. External members can apply for a community membership at the library registration desk.

How do I access e-resources from off-campus?

You can access e-resources from off-campus by logging into your library account. Once logged in, all subscribed e-books, journals, and databases will be accessible. If you experience any issues, please contact the library help desk.

Borrowing & Returns

How many books can I borrow at once?

Students can borrow up to 3 books at a time. The loan period is 2 weeks. Faculty and staff have extended borrowing privileges. All borrowed books can be renewed online if no other patron has placed a hold on them.

How do I renew a book?

You can renew books online by:

  1. Logging into your library account
  2. Going to "My Borrowings"
  3. Selecting the books you wish to renew
  4. Clicking "Renew Selected Items"
Books can be renewed once if they are not overdue.

What is the late return fee?

The late return fee is N$5 per day per book. We encourage returning books on time to avoid accumulating fines. You can check your fines online through your account dashboard.

What if I lose or damage a book?

If a book is lost or damaged, please report it immediately to the circulation desk. You will be responsible for the replacement cost of the book plus a processing fee. The exact amount depends on the book's value and availability.

E-Resources & Digital Services

What e-resources are available?

We offer a wide range of e-resources including:

  • E-books across all disciplines
  • E-journals and academic articles
  • Research databases
  • Past examination papers
  • Video lectures and tutorials
  • Theses and dissertations
All resources can be accessed through our e-library portal.

Can I download e-books for offline reading?

Due to copyright protection, e-resources are for online viewing only. Downloading, copying, and printing are disabled to protect intellectual property rights. You can view materials anytime through our secure online platform.

How do I search for e-resources?

You can search for e-resources using our online catalog and e-library portal. Filter by title, author, subject, or resource type. Our search feature helps you find exactly what you need quickly.

Do you offer research assistance?

Yes! Our librarians are available to help with:

  • Research strategies and methodologies
  • Citation formatting (APA, MLA, Harvard, etc.)
  • Database searching techniques
  • Literature reviews
You can schedule a one-on-one consultation through the library website or visit the reference desk.

Are there study spaces available?

Yes, we have:

  • Silent study zones for individual work
  • Group discussion rooms (can be reserved online)
  • Computer workstations
  • Comfortable reading areas
All spaces are equipped with Wi-Fi and power outlets.

Do you have printing and copying services?

Yes, printing and copying services are available in the library. Black & white printing costs N$1 per page, color printing is N$3 per page. Scanning to email/USB is free.
